Alpental Backcountry ^w

Alpental is a relatively small, remote and hidden gem buried in the Cascades Mountains of Washington State. Just one hour from Seattle you'll find some of the finest, most beautiful and treacherous terrain anywhere to be found in the Pacific Northwest. Skiers and snowboarders who frequent the backcountry are the most serious and skilled of athletes. Usually only the best and most experienced feel really at home here. Going alone is not recommended. There are notable cliffs and drops so severe that surviving a fall unharmed is often lucky. There’s a subculture dating back to Alpental’s start that can’t give the place up. They’ve now raised their kids to be extreme boarders and skiers, many of whom you’ll see out there.
